Dog Eat Dog examines the principle behind the phrase “a dog eat dog world.” Both individualism and corporate culture are rampant in contemporary society. While seemingly at odds, both rely on the principle of “every man for himself.’ Individuals no longer believe in helping others without asking what’s in it for them. In corporate America, everyone is a part of the team, one in which the team members are all competing to climb to the top. Many of today's politicians would have us believe that “If you are not with us, you are against us.” However, it is not always clear just who the “us” is. Perhaps we should all watch our backs and take care of our own. After all, you may just find that you are not one of us, but one of them.
